YOUR LIFE - YOUR COMMUNITY - YOUR WORLD

What are you doing to make your 'world' a better place?

Leadership & Service Program

Your Life Your Community Your World

The class is a one semester, 100 hour focusing on allowing students to become more aware of life around them:  their own life journey; the importance of education as a path to a better life; the dangerous impact of racial isolation; understanding the impact of choices; trauma informed learning; striving to be a better person.

  The class themes are:

The Power of One Life - four weeks

Living a Life that Matters - four weeks

Facing and Overcoming Hardships in Life - six weeks

Having a plan for the Future and giving back - two weeks

Service-learning:  after the first three weeks being used as an introduction, students will use two days a week, during the school day, to travel to a nearby elementary school to tutor/mentor students that are having a hard time in the classroom setting - either with academic and/or behavior support.

The class name - Your Life Your Community Your World - is named so because every lesson is applicable to the student's life now and for the future.  The intent is that high school and college students take a class and know that all the information is usable.   They will not say - 'when will I ever use this information?'  They will find use for it immediately on their life journey and wherever they go in the future.
