We believe in creating leaders for the future.  All of your donations help ensure that we can add more kids to our program.  Our administrators are not compensated through non-profit funds.  

 

Our program began in 2003 as a 100 hour high school leadership and service-learning class. Our service focus was/is tutoring and mentoring elementary students in need of support in school day and after school programs, and a summer leadership development camp.

 

We started our nonprofit because we wanted to put a greater emphasis on leadership development for young people. Besides creating a ‘leadership pipeline’, we are also creating more service opportunities for our leaders, and those coming behind us.

We are college and high school students that have been involved with this program anywhere from five to seven years. We want to make a difference!

WHAT MAKES OUR CAMPS UNIQUE:

Our focus is multi-age camps with teens, college students, and school teachers as staff (must have a history with the school year program).  We have students from grades third - 11th grade participate.  Our goal is to have the same students return every year and bring in new students only at the elementary level.  That way everyone that returns understands the expectations, becomes not just a participant but a role model for those coming behind.  Again, this is a GREAT way to develop a leadership pipeline.  We don't have behavior issues because the returning students are older and model expected behavior.  As with our school year program, one rule applies to everything we do - Treat Others the Way You Want to be Treated.  If we all hold to this rule, behavior falls in line.

The more leaders you bring in from the school year program, the more program offerings you create in - sports, art, academics, music, whatever!   Your leaders and programs become assets/ supports for young people and their community.   The longer the entire program is in place, the more assets you develop!
